น้องโยษิตา รักษาสัตย์ รุ่นที่ 17 กับเรื่องเล่าที่ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา

My name is Yosita Raksasat. I am a student from Suksanari School. I was an exchange student from Thailand to the United States of America. I lived in Unity, Oregon. It is a really small city. The population is about 100-150 people. There are  only gas station and convenient store in my city. I stayed there for seven months due to covid-19 outbreak. I lived with the Corder family, and in our family we have Host mom, Host dad, their two daughters, and more exchange students. We lived in kind of a dorm. There are exchange students who live in the same house as me, and they come from China, Mexico, Kyrgyzstan, Germany, Russia, and America. I studied in Burnt River High School and in my school we actually have only 17 students. We have only three teachers who teach the students differently. In my city, there’s no signal at all. That means no 3G or 4G. The only way you can access the internet is Wifi at the house. But unfortunately, we have many rules that restrict the use of our phones, such as we have Wifi only one hour per week, no phone in bedroom, and no phone in the bathroom. It’s quite shocked right? But after that seven months, I realized how important the friendship are, and I know that phone is an unnecessary thing to live with in the world. I have not regret to spend my exchange year without phone or any social media. In my host family house, we have chores. Which we have to clean the goats’ barn and chicken’s barn twice a week and we also have to feed them in the morning before we go to school and before we go to bed. At first, I think it’s not suitable for me because I don’t really like animals. But after 7 months, I know that these things build the friendship in the house. The first month that I went there, I thought that the friends here would not be the friend through my life. But now I’m sure that they will always stay by my side and they will be my friends forever.

Finally, I just want to tell those who can’t decide whether you want to spend a year in other country with strangers or not. I truly encourage you to go, because I think all of the experiences will help you in your future life.
